A good deed indeed!

This is an awesome story…don’t stop reading now; and I promise it’s not a feminist’s story that I am known to write about.

Recently here in San Diego the Ronald McDonald house, which provides a home away from home for families visiting their seriously ill children, moved from a hospital building into newly built quarters on hospital property nearby. The COO of the Ronald McDonald house had asked Rady Children’s Hospital if they would please continue to pay for their landscaping…the hospital had no idea what the COO was talking about. They had never supplied the Ronald McDonald house with landscaping.

Ok…here is where your heart melts. They tracked down the gardener and found out for the past 18 years…let me repeat…18 years, he has been landscaping the Ronald McDonald house for FREE. A man in his 50’s or 60’s refuses any pay and does not want any recognition. The COO asked him why he does it and the man said he is so appreciative of what we do for families in need and this is his way of saying “thank you”.

This story should have been front page news instead of being tucked away in the corner. What a cool guy!
